And you've got a really fine composition to show for it. I like how the peaches, because of the DOF, lead the eye along a fun track towards the back of the photo. Nice.

I can see your point. Honestly, what I really like about this photo is the purple color against the green, and the way the water pools in the little "armpits"... I could probably capture what I like about it in another way.
I'll give that a shot in the next few days- it'll be a challenge!

This one reminds me of one a little similar you took some time ago, but this one has a better balance in the composition. The light is lovely, as you already know, but I also like that sand dune on the left side to provide some interest amidst the grasses. I might straighten it just a tad, but then I'm very strange about that sort of thing.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment on my blog. I always appreciate your particular eye and you always have trenchant things to say, as you did again.
Ironically, I find myself a little troubled with this for the same reason you were not entirely overwhelmed by mine -- a lack of anything specific to focus our eye upon. I suppose it's an interesting radial, but beyond that I'm not sure what to make of this one. What do you think?

You seem particularly attracted to water in your photography. I wonder if you might think more about that and offer us a short series, as a way to motivate yourself and to think on the nature of that artistict attraction. And of course we benefit by getting to see them, too. I particularly like the colors in this.

I like this best of the boardwalk ones you've posted so far (and I hope there are more). The colors are lively and the movement adds great interest and verve to the composition.

This is marvelously poised. The balance is effective because the colors are all complementary. Nicely done.

I like the composition and POV here. The little bit of dune in the immediate left foreground bothers me a little. I think it helps add depth, but because it's out of focus it's a little distracting. But cutting it seems to flatten the image and make it less interesting. Thoughts?

You've often taken these kinds of shots that "suggest" rather than say, isolating a small element and allowing it to speak a larger story. I like these kinds of shots a lot. I might have wished for a little more clarity in that ribbon to add even greater impact, but overall it's nice execution.

Great shot. How many did you have to shoot to get that drop just right? Did you shoot any at different speeds?

This is terrific! One of the best you've done. The water is of course very good, but it's that red in the right corner that really makes this a fine photo. Thanks for sharing.

Looks delicious. I like the muted colors in this. I wonder what it also might look like as a square composition . . . ? Just a thought.
